Life in and out of the garden
I'm with you on hibernating - if only it were possible! Praying Mantis are such odd-looking creatures ... I quite like them though but that's because I've rarely ever seen them here.
I've always wanted to hibernate in the winter - if only we could!Gorgeous photos! We have lots of praying mantids in our yard and gardens. I'm always running into them. Last winter, we counted 21 mantid cases attached to trees and shrubs and actually had the good fortune to see them emerging from one of them this spring! There are photos here and here. Fascinating, they are!
I've always had a fascination with the praying mantis- and your picture captures their unique"personality". All your pictures were great:) but that one really caught my eye.
Hi - Just found your blog and like your approach to things.Have you stopped blogging or are you just waiting for spring to resume the blog writing?Martha
Gorgeous photos!I'm a rather inept gardener but I keep trying and I take tons of photos of whatever happens to grow through my neglect.I used to consider complete hibernation in the winter, but I tend to get more of it done during the winter since I won't go outside except for necessity. Here, it's gorgeous in the summer and I spend more time outside. Wow, I've missed that after being misplaced in the southeast for 12 years!
